Not that they (Big Tech) have the capability to do it, or even the interest, political pressure, technical or social ability or financial/economic incentive to do so, but that they are supposedly "American companies", allowed to operate here and even incentivized economically through various tax shelters created by the government - as an example Amazon has agreements whereby they pay no property tax at their warehouses.

And they have official and unofficial government connections but have no interest in upholding freedom of speech. Twitter used to be referred to as the "free speech wing of the free speech party." Now, even famous and important people find themselves censored by the Big Tech company acquiescing to a mob, or their employees own delusions of grandeur.

And they are not being sanctioned in any way (officially by the government or unofficially by stock-price collapse "shareholder revolt" or successful boycotts), moreover rewarded or retaining their influence because they have so conveniently weaseled their way into our lives.

How many small businesses are depending on an "intermediary" service they offer, so that boycotting them means a freedom-loving business goes under? Such as Paypal and Amazon's influence over ecommerce. Or the credit card companies which famously deplatformed Wikileaks and Gab in the past. So if you boycott them, now you can't easily or sometimes at all support the good guys. (Even more so with the lockdowns, hyped by the Big Tech owned media - as an example, Comcast is part of NBC/Disney, Bezos owns the Washington Post).

I bet a company in another country would be happy to have the President of America (Trump not Corporate Joe) on their platform and let them speak their mind. Even some American companies would be proud to give Trump and other marginalized people a platform where they can speak (ie, Gab). I bet even foreign state-owned enterprises would allow Trump a platform, like Weibo or WeChat, at least more so than the so-called "American Big Tech".

It's also almost impossible to crash the stocks of the biggest companies (the only thing they listen to is their wallets) because they are tied in automatically to people's investments, retirement funds, bank deposits due to fractional-reserve banking. Even worse, if they fail to actually serve their customers (Airlines with masks for example), they get bailed out, making it impossible to actually influence them on anything.
