But the idiocy of amnesty proponents is that in their misplaced "compassion," they're creating MORE victims like this boy by encouraging trafficking. You can dismiss these kids' plight all you want by saying they'll eventually get support from the US government and have an advantage in society over American kids, but the horrible abuse and rape a lot of these kids have to endure is not worth any of that. The truly compassionate thing to do is to disincentivize them from coming to the US.
That's exactly what human trafficking is though. Smuggling is different from trafficking, the former means that the person being brought in knows it and volunteers for or agrees to it (e.g smuggling "migrants" across the English channel in trucks). Trafficking means it's against the person's will or they had no say in it.

Very easy solution no one wants to admit: marry only in the eyes of God in a church (the only place where marriage really counts for anything) and skip legal marriage in the eyes of the government altogether.
