For me I got fed up with the BS a long time ago... almost 20 years ago. After a while you begin to see a LOT more of the lies, also it gets a bit weird when you notice that people around you are really really brainwashed.
Then you start noticing the sheep are acting like the 2D caricatures on TV.
All through this process, just when I thought I'd found my way past all the lies, I keep finding more layers. It is worth noting that the lies get trickier, they mix bits of truth in most of them to give them a convincing patina of reality, some are better mixed than others. Also many of the things blown off as conspiracy theories or 'woo woo', have at least some truth to them, look for the ones ridiculed the hardest. Occasionally revisit some of the stuff you've dismissed in the past.
By this point, I feel like the protagonist in that old movie "Idiocracy", except this is much creepier. BTW I find very few movies palatable, and will stop watching in the middle when I spot the propaganda. The Idiocracy is often easy to spot in the trailers.
Also a bit of advice, don't broadcast your state of mind, as you'll wind up alienating friends and family, instead try to SUBTLY bring them around.
Alex Jones is a great example of going too far, too fast, he was the first one YT censored. He was loud and acted crazy enough that they used him as a test case, he is so right over the target, the more I learn the more I find that he is correct about. AJ also has a habit of not taking the time to show his proof or reason things out loud, he just blasts away hopping from one topic to another. As much as he is right about, its painful to watch him for more than a few minutes.
