Admittedly, I was caught with my pants down. I began making preps a few months but didn't have the right stuff prepped. I had months of food stored, but never got a generator or water. Luckily DWU never turned off their pumps so water wasn’t a problem, but if they did, I at least had life straws and sawyer mini with a couple ponds and a creek within walking distance.
This whole experience has really opened my eyes to the importance of self reliance and also community. My wife is now on board with prepping so when this happens again, it’ll just be a minor inconvenience.

Last summer or the summer before there was a spike in wholesale prices and people were getting outrageous bills. There was a lot of outrage about that, but as usual, people forgot and didn’t lock in contracted rates and will get smoked again in the coming weeks.
