I wrote this as a comment on a different post, and I figured other people would want to hear it:
I was 17 when Trump initially ran for his first term. I was skeptical about whether he would be able to lead, considering that I was used to seeing people like career politicians run for president. Regardless, I wanted Trump to win, mainly because I had heard about the Clinton email scandal. Back then, I wasn't into politics, so my judgements weren't very thorough back then. I joined Reddit about a year ago with interest as to what was in some of the mainstream subreddits. A couple of months in, I found a thread attacking "conservatives", so I decided to look into conservatism v.s. liberalism. I was a self-proclaimed liberal back then, simply because public school taught us that conservatives were "science-deniers". Once I got a grasp on what conservatism really was, I realized that my values aligned with other conservatives. Due to the quarantine of r/The_Donald, I did not discover it until late 2019 when it was mentioned in a r/trump thread. Since then, I have woken up to how much president Donald Trump has accomplished, from keeping our borders secure to targeting high-profile terrorists. I truly discovered how disgusted I was with the democratic candidates when they condemned the killing of Qasem Soleimani in January. From there, my biggest issue with the democrats has been their ignorance when it comes to the riots that have been destroying our communities, especially since the death of George Floyd. As a young person who broke from the chains of liberal indoctrination from school, I am proud to say that I have voted red down my ballot. I hope that Donald Trump is reelected for another four years, as this may be the most important election of our lives.
