The problem is when you’re fighting truth it’s hard to be insidious. I can undermine a communist’s faith just by talking about eating what I want. For us, they have to be totally over the top and treat everything that isn’t a straight up boot to the deep state’s neck as the first symptoms of utter collapse. Have worked in some event medicine in my time. Never been to a political event tho. If you feel qualified to slap chest seals on, by all means do so. I’m sure at that point you know you’d get similar mileage from anything occlusive and some duct tape.
One point I like to stand on is that tourniquets are hard to fake. In terms of pain, nerve and tissue damage, avoiding compartment syndrome etc there are plenty of ways to cock up an improvised TK. Sure you’ll save a life if you manage to cut off blood flow to a gaping hole but for $30 you can do it without also causing a lifetime of disability.
Quick clot is the jammy jam and I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

Earplugs. Painkillers. Generic Claritin (about the same onset as oral Benadryl and doesn’t compound the effects of alcohol.) Gatorade or equivalent. Phone charging battery and cable. Ample cash in small bills. AA maglite or similar size could still be carried into a plane last time I flew. Snacks both small and great. A hat. Bandanas or cravats.

Our folks are very much alive but definitely not in any shape to receive the wife and I if we were to go back to see them. Not to compare our hardships - just to say it’s a strange bittersweet feeling I think we may share, to have a wonderful holiday like Christmas to celebrate but to know how it changes over time.
