Having a degree doesnt make you smarter or better than someone else?

I have a masters but don’t get why people throw that around like it’s a be-all-end-all. So we finished some courses in something only we care about: congrats.

Point of clarification: A consulate and an embassy are different. There is only ever one embassy which represents the foreign country.

A consulate is an office (or sometimes even just the house of one person) who represents that government to its citizens living in an area too far from the embassy to access consular, or citizen-focused, services.

It’s still considered offensive to declare a consulate or consul (the head officer) persona non grata, but it’s not on the same level as expelling an ambassador or embassy.

If US intelligence had evidence the consulate, which again is meant primarily to serve Chinese citizens in the US in this case, was hoarding American business trade secrets or US citizen data it would make sense they would close it because that’s not the function of a consulate. Embassies are a little more sacrosanct as they are considered the sovereign territory of the country which sets them up.

I'm a kpop fan over 30, but I lived in Korea for years and my fiance is Korean. I do admit that many state-side kpop fans are quite left, however they're not as militant left as weebs tend to be, imo.

I work for our local school district in administration of policy. Our district, while quite liberal, deployed a survey to parents on opening and our county is rather conservative meaning the survey results indicated most parents wishing to return in the fall--a decision I agree with. It's surprising to me districts out there are blanket canceling this soon without even trying to implement in-person instruction.

Her dying would cause Dems to block Trump’s nomination on grounds that its “too close to an election and will be too politically influenced.”

Periodically verify with your state’s secretary of state that your registration is active. Increase your frequency of checking as the election moves forward to avoid being purged from the rolls and denied poll access on election day.

Well crypto- prefix is usually used before a religion when naming people who had to hide their religion (“crypto-jews”, “crypto-catholics”). Seeing as there are no other conservatives in my life, I need to hide my views, especially at work, for my livelihood; so I chose crypto-conservative.

I know of two people who died from it.

One was a neighbor. Relatively young and healthy guy (50s?).

One was a family friend from New Jersey. Went onto a ventilator and didn’t make it.

They’re uneducated. The fasces is also a symbol of fascism but the US also uses this on our currency. Fascist movements and the US took this symbolism from Rome, as did many European countries. Did they even call that out? No, because it doesn’t “implicate” the president somehow. Rubes.

Oh yeah if reparations becomes a thing I’m claiming them rather than contributing based on the fact that at the time half of my family was enslaved on a plantation ... in Ulster, Ireland. /s

You dont even have to be a priest to be Pope. Any Catholic male not known for simony (bribery for, or purchasing ecclesiastical office) is electable. The Spirit of God moves unexpectedly.

(Although I would guess that by canon law, the man becomes a priest at least upon coronation as pope since he becomes Bishop of Rome simultaneously.)
