At this point, I feel like the only Liberals that are still fully on board with this narrative are true radicals.
There has been just way too many flare-ups from the MSM as of late that expose their lies and agenda into an irrefutable and undeniable situation.
I could only imagine that moderate blues with even the slightest faculties for critical thought are beginning to wonder if something is up
I figured I may come across as a noob by asking this but yeah, I'm a recent Trump supporter who only started following since the Coronavirus nonsense.
Trump has won the first vote I'll ever cast for president, (spent a long time not voting at all), but I want to do my research on him regarding where he stands on a multitude of issues so I know what I'm really getting into if that makes sense.
This is really such a victory for not only the GOP but American values on Justice as well.
It's incredible that the MSM repeatedly get themselves crossed up in these contradicting positions over and over again.
If you truly do #BelieveAllWomen, then the Tara Reade case should necessitate the same public response and conviction that the Kavanaugh case did some time ago. So now the MSM is caught in a contradiction, because when this case inevitably breaks through to the surface despite the lack of coverage, people will need to confront an ugly hypocrisy when realizing the rational move all along was to lend all of the accused their due process.
I've always held the position that the #BelieveAllWomen and #MeToo movement are dangerous, as it subverts the essence of our Justice system, being "innocent until proven guilty", and I feel the same way here with Biden.
To me, this is the better talking point rather than flat out calling Biden a rapist
Actually, like other posters are saying, this is really the icing on the cake. They either have to concede that the original numbers were completely wrong and that not that many would have died anyways, or they have to concede that the US response worked.
In either situation Trump wins and the MSM image goes down the tubes.
If they concede the numbers were wrong and the initial panic was uncalled for as an attempt to reduce the value of the Trump response, Redpills across America will be shoved down the throat of unsuspecting liberals and independents when they realize they were furloughed and fired over plain and simple irresponsible journalism.
If they refuse to do that, they really can't run the stories anymore that the Trump response has been inadequate, especially as our case numbers and antibody testing start to really downgrade the mortality rate of the virus. This Redpill is a little more subtle, but ultimately the real kicker will be the anger of the unemployed after this whole thing subsides.
At many times I doubt the whole '5d chess' meme as Trump just getting repeatedly lucky, but this one seems like a true interdimensional checkmate.
Honestly it's such a same to see Trump get locked into a position like this. The MSM has twisted the pandemic narrative far enough that he needs to be very careful with his reactions to what is proving itself to be each and every day nothing near what was projected.
I think Trump knows he's being played at this point, but if he even makes the slightest notion of downplaying the 'seriousness' of COVID he will be crucified.
Hopefully the temperature begins to change though, as I can nearly guarantee that each day that goes on in lockdown will slowly convert more and more people paralyzed into the MSM hysteria narrative.
Can't speak for OP here, but I don't think either is being implied. Trump is in a difficult spot here because of the World momentum in panic closures and fear mongering.
Imagine if Trump pulls up the restrictions tomorrow. You think the media is coming down on him hard now? Imagine the world stage throwing him under the bus as America decides to willfully ignore the doctors orders that are being broadcasted over the airwaves.
It's difficult to know what to think right now about the seriousness of the virus. There are different messages being sent out right now that are all over the spectrum of seriousness and credibility. But so far the numbers (not the models) still haven't surpassed the current death toll from the seasonal flu, both in worldwide numbers and in the United States.
After the data revealed from the briefing today, it looks like no matter what happens even the worst predictions model this thing fizzling out entirely by August.
I'd be truly surprised if they can prolong the fear any further than that.
I agree as well, but this still reads like a HUGE win for America and our likelihood of getting back to work sooner rather than later.
The matter of fact is, if Doctors now have the golden authorization to give it to people who would otherwise die, I see this immediately stalling the death toll. With more and more testing taking place and now a viable treatment option that has the FDA's blessing, the numbers are going to drop the fatality rate near zero.
This is a major success people!!! Sure the article bitches and moans all the way through, but you better believe that real Doctors and real health professionals out there in the field watching people die aren't going to stand by because Trump said it 'it looks promising'.
This is cause for celebrating!!!
This was fucking golden. To be honest I'm surprised they don't show more hostility towards the reporters when the papers make these insane headlines out of bits and pieces they say no less than hours after it's been said.
The great thing is people who are actually watching these conferences are likely getting red pilled hard when they see a story get published that doesn't even remotely reflect the reality of the situation.
Ah, this is a very good reply and some very good points raised. In that case, I hope that the GOP and its supporters can stay on the side of reasonable and rational debate in times like these, and win people over with honey rather than vinegar.
In this light, I suppose it's likely my own bias, but I would be hard pressed to think that blue policies and attitudes are winning anyone over these days. As I've stated in my previous comments, I'm a fairly recent Trump supporter, based in LA with a fairly liberal family and environment. All I can say is I haven't yet spoken to a single person who isn't sick of the shutdown and are dying for things to open back up.
All I tell them in response is to pay attention to which groups are on which side of the argument.
