Have any of you seen Biden's latest YouTube ad? He literally can't even get out the first sentence. And you know that they took dozens of takes, and that was their best one. He's so terrible in front of a camera, I honestly think they plan to use COVID as an excuse to keep him all hidden in his basement so that he doesn't have to do speeches, interviews, or debates. They know he would make an absolute fool of himself if he ever made a public appearance, and that if he debated Trump he would get absolutely thrashed. They just hope the flak Trump is unrightfully getting from COVID and the riots makes enough people vote against him to get their dementia ridden pedo into office.
The events of the last few weeks have turned me from a kinda apathetic conservative to a full on MAGA hat. Sometimes it feels like everyone has lost their minds, but I think that's just the echo chamber effect of social media. I can tell you from some of my friends (all of us being zoomers), a couple have gone off the SJW deep end, but way more have really gotten pushed away by the wanna-be tyrant bs coming from modern leftists. I honestly think, in the long run, that people will realize how genuinely awful these riots have been for the cities in question, and how stupid it is that you could have your life ruined for privately saying something some soyboy or karen thinks is offensive.
When I was younger I used to get offended about all sorts of crap. Then one day I had a simple epiphany; that whether or not I got offended was completely up to me. After that day I just choose to stop being so easily offended and have been much happier because of it.
For instance, I'm white, and when I read about how some Black Panther guy screaming about how he wants to kill white babies, I'm like, "oh look, a moron," and I'm on my merry way. Similarly, if some black guy hears about some guy saying the n word, or if some cop gets called a pig, or if some Christian gets called a superstitious idiot, their responses should be pretty much the same. Basically, shrugging it off and not caring. When people say stupid crap like that, they are looking to offend you. By getting all flustered and offended, you're just giving in to them. The best way to counter them is to just ignore them and refuse to give them power over your emotional state.
It doesn't matter what "historical context" there is to certain phrases. There are things that are legitimately offensive, I agree with that. Obviously the n word has more historical context than something totally innocuous like "Karen." The point I am trying to make is that no matter how offensive something is, whether or not you let it get to you is always a choice. I'm writing this because I genuinely believe, in the current age of outrage, a lot of people would be a lot happier if they stopped surrendering to the people trying to put them down.
I tried posting this on r/unpopular opinion and it got immediately removed. Obviously posting this here is kinda preaching to the choir, but I'm annoyed about it getting automatically removed and thought you guys might appreciate it.
In my few years on this earth, I have learned that often what seems awful at a certain moment can turn out to produce some good. With everyone predicting the end times are coming, I would like to think of a couple positive things that will/have come with the coronavirus.
1: It has brought a re-evaluation of priorities. Have you noticed it? Not a single person has talked about gender pronouns, diversity, open borders, inclusivity, or any of this other crap. That's because when an actual problem comes along, people can't focus on stupid made up problems anymore.
2: Everyone now fully realizes that Chine is Asshoe. I feel like there were some people (mainly unironic commies) who would shill out for China, but now everybody has a constant unavoidable reminder that yes, China is Asshoe. My great aunt is about to die because of some dumbass who wanted to eat a bat. Screw them.
3: A glaring flaw of globalism has been shown. In a super interconnected world of open borders and free trade, a pandemic can spread very easily, as we have seen.
4: This is practice for a hypothetical much worse virus. I quite literally thank God this virus is so tame. The death rate is about 0.66%. That's pretty damn good. It's mainly a problem because it's so catchy. Imagine if it was as deadly as the spanish flu, which had a 10-20% death rate. Sure, medicine was not at all as good as today, I'm just making the point that after this we probably won't be caught off guard by a pandemic again in a while.
That's all I could think of, but I'm sure there are other good side affects to this.
