My parents voted democrat, and everyone I knew supported democrats, but when it came the time for me actually choose my voter affiliation, I chose independent cause I had no reason to actually justify picking democrat. I asked myself "Why do I want to pick Democrat? Because everyone expects me to?" Literally the only reason I felt the need to side with the democrats is because apparently the republicans are money grubbing racists and the democrats are for the normal person. Fucking bullshit.

Oh man, I remember saving web pages to make sure I didn't have to load them again in the future. I also remember having some sort of internet "optimizer" that basically compressed the fuck out of every image in an attempt to make pages load faster.
Now as an adult programmer, I know that shit was pure bullshit. Only way for that to actually work is to have the compressed image mirrored on another server and then redirect the download to that server instead, but that isn't what that scam software was doing. It downloaded the entire image and just compressed the hell out of it to make it look like it was doing something, lol.
