What people's compliance to the lockdowns has proven to the government is that it works. And by God, if it worked once, it'll work again. And we all know damn well that people will keep submitting and the government will keep doing it.
The only solution, then, is for people to fear something more than they fear the government. They have to fear US. Each other. Their customers and their employees.
People need to sue businesses and their employers so viciously that they ignore anything the government ever threatens them with again and they don't think twice about crossing us ever again.

Or, in the case of Arizona, make it look like all our concerns about election fraud are crazy by intentionally turning up bupkis so the media can report on what crazy anti-democracy fascist insurrectionists we all are for saying the election was rigged.

Yeah, our situation is headed towards a fail state. This same situation has repeated itself over and over time and time again throughout history and it always ends up the same way.
When societal support collapses (essentials like food, finances, medical care, mass displacement, etc) things go hot.
And we are the most armed populace in human history by an order of magnitude. When we start killing, the oligarchs and their pet politicians start dying in droves.
There is just no way the oligarchs survive it, yet they continue to double down and deliver us ever closer to exterminating them and their wealth at an increasingly rapid pace.
Even if we didn't just start gunning them down directly, their wealth is invested in this country. If we start murdering each other in droves and destroying their infrastructure and disrupting their commerce, they lose their fortunes.
Nobody gains from the wholesale destruction of the US. Not even china. China has trillions invested in the US. They own the majority of our national debt for fucks sake! Hell, they get their food supply from us!
Their success depends on keeping us under control, complacent, and working for them as serfs.
But they're not getting our guns. It doesn't matter what anyone thinks. It doesn't matter how hard anyone tries. It doesn't even matter if not a single person fights back.
Seizing our guns is just logistically impossible a task for the state to accomplish.
There is simply too many guns in the hands of private citizens and not enough deep state lackies dumb and dedicated enough to go around collecting them all up. It's a simple manpower issue.
The only way americans get disarmed is if each and every one of us makes a concentrated effort to voluntarily collect and hand over every single firearm in our possession by choice. And at the very least, most people don't even have the work ethic to spare for even a simple chore as that.
(This isn't even like routinely filing taxes. We don't have generations of gun surrendering routine drilled into our heads like we do with tax season. But even still, at this point, people are so weak that I wouldn't be surprised if they actually all do dutifully hand over their guns by choice.)
And once people get desperate, the killing and destruction will be indiscriminate. The oligarchs won't be unaffected by it. Too many people won't just starve to death quietly when they're so well armed.
