2% of the senate is hospitalized for an indefinite period? Wow. Imagine a company with that much of the workforce in the hospital.

Payroll was disrupted due to this issue as some payroll companies use SVB for remittance.

Braddock is a dump, for sure. How it has 120 residents is a mystery to me.

Fetterman was being positioned for senate or governor, there was so much momentum and investment in this guy, he was going to be in office no matter what. He's from a wealthy family and he basically plays blue collar dress up.

Was so happy to get gas range back. Induction was harder to control, harder to clean and forget a wok ring. Baked on food spills were nearly impossible to remove.

As noted below, great for perfectly flat pans that stay put during cooking. Or boiling water, maybe.

You'd be amazed at what chatgtp can do for replacing mid-level managers. Perf reviews, project schedules, basic data mining, etc. No reason a chatbot couldn't run a sprint planning meeting better than 90% of the PMs I've encountered.

For baking, electric is better most of the time. Due to the higher humidity caused by gas combustion, yeast breads develop a better crust than electric. For a better crust in an electric oven, bake with a pan of water in the lower rack. Commercial ovens have humidity control, so the fuel doesn't matter, but I've noticed electric ovens seem to maintain a more consistent temperature.

Live in small town with corrupt police. We would be better off with no police, as they account for much of the crime.

Property taxes in Greenville MS look a bit confisctory, 15K for a 500K house is NJ level taxes.

Maybe the few properties I looked at weren't a good sample.

50% down payment. 5 year baloon loan, which meant you needed to refinance every 5 yrs and hopefully for less principal or payoff the balance.

When we purchased our first house, 20% down plus closing costs was an unbendable rule. This worked to keep a lid on prices. The 100% mortgage and the ability to finance closing helped to accelerate prices.

Dealing with some corruption at the local level now. Jaw dropping how out in the open it is, moving is the only realistic option. Generations of people used to benefiting from corruption can't be dislodged. Towns are poor due to corruption, not lack of economic opportunities.

Looked at the ballot and didn't see a serial number. That would fix the issue of feeding in the same set of ballots multiple times. Print a serial number on the paper when scanned and that makes it clear it was counted. Print the same ballot serial number on a stub and the voter can check if ballot was scanned correctly and even get the serial number from the counting process.

This isn't a complex problem.

6 mos: down 25% Ytd: down 31% 12 mos: down 37% 5yrs: up 174%

Most of the gains in last 5yrs happened after 2020, looks like price is returning to reasonable valuation.

Good investment if purchased in 2017 or before and if you plan on selling soon.

Worked in social services decades ago. The saying was "sex is what you do, gender is who you are" yes, this is total BS. The point being the push for this gender craziness was afoot long ago.

Min wage also keeps low value jobs from happening. As a kid, it was a low pay job to work in a mall or public space and just keep things tidy. While I miss super clean America, it would be difficult to justify a few 15/hr people to do this work nowadays.

Looks like a single 6 axis arm with lots of fuducials, so not much in the way of perception. End effector looks fixed. Robot-wise, not a lot going on there. Can't imagine those AR tags staying clean enough for detection for more than a week.

If they stop paying, does the electric company terminate their non-service? Once the wires are disconnected, they're no longer customers. I'd like to stop paying just to see what happens, but that seems like the path to some sort of legal action more expensive than just paying.
