I recommend MeWe as well but so far it's been difficult to get family and friends to make the switch from facebook. They've been signing up for Parler probably because it's been in the news more but that really only replaces Twitter. MeWe feels like Facebook only better.

Just installed it and set it as the default messaging app on Android. It's quite amazing, it knows if the other person has the app or not and will show if the message will be encrypted or standard text. Plus it has secure calling and video.
