Unless you’re shooting armor a 9mm causes equivalent soft tissue damage in terms of survivabity (per FBI and CDC data) as a .40, .44 or .45. The benefit of a 9mm is less kick allowing for more accurate second shot placement and magazine capacity. I would advocate for 9mm as the ideal PDW.
