We've made the following changes to Win today:
- added ability to block users from a private message
- added ability to delete private messages that you sent
- changed 'disable account' to 'delete account', plus it now deletes all your posts, comments, and messages (/deactivate)
- fixed issue with exempting posts from listings (should now work perfectly)
- updated privacy policy
- fixed issue with tagging when more than one username
We've also made some changes to reduce the number of errors encountered immediately after logging in. We'll track the impact the changes have and focus further on this issue depending on how it goes.

We've just released a new update, these are the changelogs:
- added the option to exclude posts that you've already voted on from listings ("listing" = hot/new/rising/top)
- when a post is hidden and therefore exempt from a listing, a post from the next page will fill in the gap
- blocking users will now hide their posts in listings
This is part two of the listing update from March 20th. Actively stickied posts do not abide by the above options, they will show regardless.
This is the first changelog in a week. While there were a number of changes over the past seven days, the majority of progress was made on unreleased projects. These are some of the live changes from prior days:
- Imgur album links will now attempt to find the direct link (in which case your link will be automatically adjusted to the direct link)
- fixed some issues with pinging with trailing punctuation
- fixed Streamable embeds
- fixed issue where bots (TrumpTrainBot, TrumpBrickBot) could send their response multiple times
- hidden pagination buttons if endless scrolling is enabled
Leave your feedback, bug reports, and suggestions in the comments. Upvote the suggestions that you agree with most. We'll use this as an indicator of what's most important.
These are today's Win updates:
- u/TrumpBrickBot and u/TrumpTrainBot have returned.
- when viewing a comment context, you will now only see the direct path. Example when viewing the context of Canuck4Trump2020's comment: before vs after.
- increased comment vote button sizes
- you can now drag to resize embedded images (desktop only)
- when returning to a listing with infinite scrolling enabled, you'll now more accurately go to where you left off
- added a new sidebar module with election links
- when editing a comment, tab now takes you to the submit button rather than cancel
- removed brackets around comment scores
- added in the "context" button for guests (was already there for users)
- fixed some issues with YouTube links
- fixed issue where pinging an OP while replying to their post would send them two notifications

We've made some quite large updates today, most of which shouldn't have much impact on the frontend.
The core of it, is that we have reworked how we generate listings. This means that we can (and have) also reworked how we handle pagination (going to next and previous page), as well as other things such as excluding content that you've hidden, or from users that you've blocked, or that you've already upvoted (optionally).
While hiding content was previously possible, it wasn't viable to fill in the gaps with additional content. If you had hidden all 25 posts on the front page and refreshed, your front page wouldn't be filled with fresh content. It'd be empty.
We haven't yet made any changes to better support excluding content, but we will be doing so shortly.
The biggest change in this batch is that we now have endless scrolling, which is enabled by default on both mobile and desktop. This is in large part thanks to u/happyfave. There is a setting that can be toggled off, in case you don't like this behavior.
Additionally, pagination on the main listings (hot/new/rising/top) is now handled not by pages but by post IDs, which is another highly requested change.
The main improvements that motivated this rework will be coming soon.
Other changes unrelated to this rework include banned users being no longer able to private message anyone except moderators --- yep, this should have always been the case.

These are March 18th's Win updates. Quite a slow day, but a few changes:
- added option when submitting link posts to "get suggested title", which will set the title field to the link's page title
- preview mode now more accurately previews a comment or message
- added option to sort by controversial in comments
- added captcha popup for newer users when private messaging
- added other, unspecified limits for private messaging
- fixed an issue where certain Streamable links would cause errors
- fixed various issues with the "Are you sure?" popup when trying to leave a page with unsubmitted form values
As always, leave feedback, suggestions, and bug reports in the comments.

These are today's Win updates:
- continued stability improvements to Win's image hosting
- can now resize textareas (when submitting comments and messages)
- can now see the total number of comments in a thread from inbox and profile
- added social media icons to desktop site's header
- fixed dark mode sidebar background on mobile
- made visited links a different color in dark mode, and a slight adjustment on light mode
- "http" links are no longer eligible to be embedded
- clicking post title on post page (as opposed to within a listing) now respects your "open links in new tab" setting
- fixed pagination in inbox (previously pressing "next page" would revert you to sorting all messages, rather than your selection such as just comment replies, or just private messages)
- fixed some issues caused by yesterday's font change (such as private message title no longer appearing bold)
As always, leave feedback, suggestions, and bug reports in the comments - and share TheDonald.win everywhere.
To continue this pattern of daily updates, we have just released these changes:
- fixed password resets
- added option to share posts via email
- added the ability to block users, which disallows them from replying to your posts and comments, as well as private messaging you (this behavior may change in the future to rather allow these actions, but you personally not be able to see them)
- links are now correctly colored in dark mode
- changed font
- popup confirmation when you attempt to change pages with an un-submitted form (except the login form)
- changed domain tag color in dark mode
- added information to image post submission form, including the accepted types and the max filesize
- added a new, more accurate error message if image post is rejected
- added a "link" icon, similar to the expand embed icons, to link posts, which will open the link in a new tab when clicked
- clicking the thumbnail of link posts will now open the link (in a new tab)
- fixed status message when submitting a comment or message goes wrong (rather than leaving it as "submitting" indefinitely)
- reorganized "hide", "save", "share" post buttons to accurately reflect importance
- removed border on bottom of posts in dark mode, for trial mobile guest interface

We have again made some changes to Win today:
- new, bigger "expand embed" icons (different for images/videos/tweets/text)
- fixed missing "ago" when JavaScript disabled
- fixed issue with top sort where pagination would reset you to the default timeframe option
- added an exit button to the captcha popup, in case the user decides they don't want to continue
- fixed issue where search did not support spaces
- clicking the thumbnail of a post now expands the embed (if no embed, does nothing)
- adjusted styling for the submit button when editing a comment in dark mode
- adjusted coloring of the "tag" options when submitting a post in dark mode
- adjusted coloring of the "d" in "saved" when in dark mode
- fixed issue where collapse bar showed after submitting a comment reply via inbox
The majority of changes today were on the backend of our new image hosting option, and can't be included on this list.
There have also been a few changes made to the mobile interface changes, which are currently only available to logged out users.
- replaced the upvote icon with a small version of the uptrump wall building animation
- some spacing adjustments
- added "comments" behind the number of comments
Same as last time, please leave feedback on the new mobile design (which is currently only available to logged out users, but may be enabled for logged in users after more changes and based on the feedback)
We've just made quite a large batch of updates:
- comments and posts can now be silently edited for up to 3 minutes (no asterisk)
- Win hosted image posts are now the default posting option
- added new option in settings to disallow search engines from indexing your profile
- added new option in settings to open links (to posts or to comment sections) in a new tab
- default top sort is now weekly
- registration page now offers a link to the login page
- redirections when guests attempt to do member actions (vote, report, etc) now send user to registration page, rather than login
- further adjustments to how live timestamps are calculated
- static timestamps for comments, posts, and messages now display when JavaScript is disabled
- pressing tab when replying to a comment or message will now focus on the submit button rather than the cancel button
- adjusted wording on all setting toggles to hopefully be more helpful
- "submitted" changed to "posted"
Additionally, we've made some significant changes to listings for mobile guests. Desktop users and logged in users are not impacted during this test.
Here is a side by side comparison of before and after these changes.
If we did go ahead with these changes for logged in mobile users, we would have multiple more iterations of improvements first.
Please let us know your feedback and ideas.
As you probably saw yesterday, there was a Win post going viral. We're still gaining a little traffic (an additional 20,000 unique visitors an hour or so) from this, but the final numbers were a peak of 1.6 million uniques in a 24 hour period, and around 2.5 million uniques over 2 days.
We've also just pushed some new updates:
- Top sort option is now re-enabled
- Twitter links will now correctly display thumbnails
- Made some adjustments to how comments display on profiles ( thanks to u/practicalize )
- Made some similar adjustments to how comments display in inbox
Additionally, feel free to start trying out Win's image hosting by clicking here. As we're still testing, no promises that this will be available at all times yet.

As some have noticed, there's a Win post that has been going viral over the last 24 hours.
At the time of writing this post, we've received 1.48 MILLION unique visitors in the last 24 hours, and this number looks like it may exceed 2 million.
After 2 weeks of being off Reddit, Win is discovering the impact it can have, and the potential that Reddit, Inc. spent the last 3 years trying to silence.

We've put out a new batch of updates, following yesterday's changes.
- settings cog in navbar on both mobile and desktop now open a dropdown with links to additional pages such as saved and hidden posts (highly requested)
- added a listing of posts that you have upvoted, also accessible in new dropdown
- added option in settings to disable inbox replies when users reply to your posts (highly requested, per post setting coming soon)
- the "messages" tab in inbox now only shows private conversations
- added a new "comment replies" tab in inbox
- fixed some issues where content would appear older than it is (>45 mins != "an hour")
- fixed pagination issues on saved and hidden post listings
- fixed pluralization of "comment" when only 1 comment
Our priorities remain image hosting, bringing back the bots, and getting the top sort option re-enabled.

We've made some changes to Win, and wanted to provide an update.
Our updates were unfortunately delayed due to the hosting situation a few days ago, but we're back on track.
We've just made the following changes:
- an update to the comment box to add a character counter, some formatting options as a middleground to markdown, and a preview option to see your formatting prior to submitting
- search is re-enabled
- added a "back to top" button, which is enabled for logged out users and new accounts, but old accounts will have to enable this in their settings if they want this option.
- a "context" button on comment replies in inbox, and on profiles
We've also fixed an issue that made it unable for us to respond to modmail for the last few days, so we'll be dealing with that backlog shortly.
Our next priorities are image hosting, bringing back the bots, and getting the top sort option re-enabled.

As you can see, Win is back up.
At 6:44am EST, Win's primary host terminated our services.
We've switched to a different provider and are pursuing long term solutions.
There is no scenario where we will be bullied into shutting down, we are here for the long haul.
It is more important than ever that you share The Donald with all the Trump supporters in your life.
We've temporarily disabled filtering by top (except by top of the hour) and by tags.
These were found to be a cause of significant performance issues.
We'll reactivate them when it's viable to do so.
We've temporarily put the subreddit into restricted mode.
This means that only moderators and a few other approved members are able to post.
After removing a majority of our moderators and causing a shitload of drama, it goes without saying that we cannot keep that community properly moderated... which was their plan.
Win remains open, and will be receiving our full attention.
Create your account and tell all your Trump supporting friends and family to join, because this is our new home and it's about to be 2016 again.
We've heard the requests for more updates on the state of Win.
It's been a while since the last update sticky, and while progressed slowed, there have been a number of important updates, including:
- comments are replyable from inbox, as well as voteable
- hiding posts (viewable at /hidden)
- saving posts (viewable at /saved)
- full formatting of content (lists, blockquotes, etc)
- mobile QoL changes
- collapsing comment thread bar
- comment nesting error at >250 comments fixed
- a lot more miscellaneous changes
Trolls
There is a very small group of users with a large network of accounts who are only here to cause trouble. We're aware of the situation and are dealing with it as we can.
New Accounts (Spam)
We've faced a number of spam issues already. The first of which was a network of 500 accounts which would blast swastikas and other content that the left wishes we would upvote, to the front page, within minutes of posting. This issue was mitigated immediately.
We have also seen financially motivated spamming of shitty blogs, affiliate offers, and fake Trump gear. This is becoming a key issue, and we are very aware of it.
The final tier of spam that we're seeing is bots (and sometimes dedicated but sad humans) designed to simply shit the place up. We've just put an update live in which new or otherwise high risk accounts will be met with captchas when attempting to submit comments or posts. Legitimate users will see these captchas when they first sign up, but they'll quickly never have to see them again.
No captcha resources are ever loaded in unless you are being displayed a captcha.
Future Updates
We also hear the requests for things such as edit history, previews before submitting, making it clearer where to view hidden and saved posts, image hosting, apolitical boards, and everything else.
We're working on it.
Our request to you, is to share TheDonald.win with all the Trump supporters in your life. Specifically the ones who were never interested in Reddit. The barrier of entry is a lot lower now that you don't need to explain all about what Reddit is.
Feel free to drop suggestions in the comments.
Reddit Inc has recently adjusted The Donald's quarantine so that when visiting the subreddit via New Reddit, you must be logged in and you must have a verified email address.
Exceptions apply where your account has already opted in to the subreddit in the past before the verified email requirement went into effect.
We're also seeing that logged in users can access the subreddit like usual when on the official Reddit apps without email verification, but logged out users receive an error:
We had trouble loading the data. Please try again.
This is the most significant issue, as our mobile traffic is one of the subreddit's biggest sources, and Reddit Inc is masking the new email requirement as a server error. For now, we have updated our banner to inform users of what has happened to mitigate these issues.
It's likely that Reddit Inc will expand this new restriction to Old Reddit and Mobile Reddit.
There appears to be no noticeable drop in activity at this time, but we've seen many reports of users being unable to access the subreddit.
If you are encountering issues accessing the subreddit, please comment below which platform you use, and whether you browse logged in or logged out.
This is clearly nothing but another attempt at killing The Donald. We're confident that win has garnered enough signups and bookmarks that the vast majority of our community will know where to go if the day comes. Reddit Inc will then be to blame for unleashing the undeniable #1 most effective political community on the internet.
