The "this is fine" period might last longer... but eventually, it'll collapse. At which point, capitalism might come back stronger than before, Marxism wiped out entirely for at least a few generations. Might take more than a few Pinochets for the recovery, though. As has been said, there's nowhere for America to flee to. Real Americans, anyway. If that, or moving out, were an option, I'd be gone. I enlisted in '04, was 28 at the time. Sustained leg injury, and was unable to meet the APFT standard for the 2-mile run. (Exceeded pushups/situps.) I'm basically barred from re-entry. The way it was explained to me, my "unclassified" discharge meant that I couldn't apply to any other branch, without getting the discharge reclassified, or enlisting in the Army again and getting an honorable discharge, and in order to enlist now, I would need a waiver - which recruiters were not likely to issue, when they could sign up a fresh 18-year old.
