Seriously though. Is this strategy of guiding people through deception named something in particular. I know people will say it's just politics, but I just got into Scott Adams' "Win Bigly" and feel like it could be similar.

It's specifically made like that in order for there not to be a tyrant in the government. There's a good video between Knowles and Shapiro in Pragers book club series in which they talk about precisely this. I would recommend.

This is what Dave Rubins book is about. There's a chapter called "You are not a nazi" in which he keeps on reaffirming exactly this.
