To be fair, republican politicians have a lot of bark but very little follow through. Plenty of easily provable shit that dems have done that never got charged or prosecuted. I've lost count in the past 4 years how many people have lied under oath to congress about one thing or another and nothing happens. TD would be checking in real time that what they said was blatant lies, and nada.

There'd have to be some sort of separation of databases.
One database contains registered voter + ballot ID. This is to keep track of how many ballots are generated, who generated which ballot, where it was generated, chain of custody, etc.
The other database is ballot ID + vote tally.
The only issue with vote security is that it also will impact anonymity. I don't know if there is really a way to have both. And have it where an individual can go in person with a receipt and ID in hand and view their own vote in private to ensure it was recorded properly.
Someone smarter than me could probably do it. But honestly, if you presented me with the option of vote anonymity or vote security, I'd go with security.
So not showing up to even inspect them and make sure they counted properly is her being "on our side"?
Explain that. How does not even doing the bare minimum to say, "yes, looks like these can add and count votes properly" somehow in the party's favor? HOW IS THAT BENEFICIAL?
The inner envelop is the only way to have traceability I believe for mail ballots.

Like if I were making a voting system, each ballot would be tagged with a unique identifying number, that number associated with a voter. Scan the tag and you see the ballot's source (printed at polling place, mail, other), you see who generated the print, time of print, etc, etc.
USPS would be tasked with scanning that barcode and sending that info back to the polling place. USPS wouldn't have access to what the scan means, it would just send the fact that it scanned such a code to the polling station to be logged. Thus creating a chain of custody of the ballot as it traveled.
Like this isn't rocket science. There shouldn't be special envelopes needed. This whole system is retarded. Almost as if whoever set it up wanted to enable fraud.
Drop Benford's. It's not simple enough for the average voter and is easily dismissed because they won't understand it. It's fine as one among many pieces to present to a court to initiate recounts and investigate but it doesn't bolster the case for convincing average Joe.

Only if there's someone willing to legally do something about it. If none of the courts care, if the DA/AG doesn't push for charges, then no, they are not fucked. They know the courts won't give a shit in most of these instances. They know charges won't be filed except in the most egregious cases. That's why they do it.
