The Chauvin trial has about five possible outcomes and the flowchart for all of them ends in rioting.

Both nuked from orbit. Superstraight got banned off reddit and twitter. NPC meme got banned off twitter after exposing the huge percentage of AI chatbot accounts that populate the platform. The obvious NPC accounts were attracting large followings of bots by ironically parroting democrat pablum which the chatbots exist to provide with positive reinforcement. Problem is that AI doesn't get irony.

I want to send this guy a BZ to keep morale up when the city comes back for revenge but I can't figure out who they are. There are, like, four churches and a daycare registered to this address and most of them are definitely not Polish.

keep our promise to the parents for in-seat instruction so they could get back to work!

I kinda hate that the real priority of the education system is provision of childcare services because both parents have to work to survive.

You suffer less than your fellow congregants of the first century did. This is the case because century after century the villains have been beaten back. Constantinople, Alexandria, Antioch, Jerusalem; this is what a philosophy of waiting for the end times produces. Would the world be better off if Rome had become another Istanbul? Would individual Christians or the Church as a whole? Would there be any Christians at all had the jannisaries breached the gates of Vienna, sacked Rome, and conquered all of Europe? If you lived at all you would be worshipping the moon god five times daily, and all the souls on that timeline are lost. That's where passively waiting for judgement day leads.

We don't take a stand for the benefit of those who continue in their transgressions. We take a stand for future generations who will inherit the world we leave them.

I question whether whatever word was used in the original Greek text is correctly translated to "neighbour" as we use the word today. I have five neighbours on the floor of my condo and in two years I've had one conversation with one of them regarding how to book a flight online, picked up one car that got out of another's unit, and asked a third to stop his dog from barking. That's it in two years. I assume they have names, but damned if I know what they are. "Neighbour" is a misnomer for people living in a city.

And about a hundred other re-tellings. The story has become a Jungian archetype at this point. I was annoyed when The Mandalorian did this story in season one that he and Gina Caranno didn't round up five other fighters first. Gotta respect the forms.

Do you and your friends own radios and know how to use them? Amateurs concern themselves with munitions; professionals concern themselves with comms.

After the German surrender my grandfather's Sgt snagged a box of Luger pistols and gave one to each of his men to take home as a souvenir. My grandfather gave it to his brother who sold it for $50. $50 in the 1940's, mind you, but still...

Wolves and ducks mate for life. If their mates die, some never take another.

Rabbits mate at random and if half their brood is killed and eaten, well the other half is still alive and if they get eaten too just try again next season.

R-K selection applies to more than just sexual strategy. It also affects attachment levels and grief.

I would try to redpill people on Hillary Clinton by asking them how many of their friends, acquaintances, and business partners were murdered and doesn't she seem like a bit of an outlier in that department? Maybe blacks are willing to vote Democrat because that level of murderousness resonates with their lived experience.

An epidemic with an r0 of 1.5 is a bigger problem than an epidemic with an r0 of 0.9

Way back in ~2003 there was an advert poster at my campus bookstore. It was an old woman with a nose ring. The message was "class rings age better".

When people in their 20's go in for this kind of tattooing and body modification, are they planning to be dead before 40? Does the thought even cross their mind that two full sleeves of tattoos and a tramp stamp will look awful in ten years? Most of this shit looks awful the moment it happens. I have never seen a woman with a tattoo which was an improvement.

Sued by who, and where would they get the money to pay out that lawsuit? Unless you're suggesting that the city counsellors and mayor be sued personally, in which case you're in blood-from-a-turnip territory as far as $27M is concerned.

Is that even possible? It's also his opinion.

You could start by pointing out that she's not of mixed ancestry. I assume this is a public figure, though not one I recognize; parental information is probably available. Then you could point to the okcupid numbers which show that across racial groups, black women are preferred more highly and messaged more often than women of other races. That'd shut him up.

Is the girl someone I'm supposed to recognize? And are we sure the guy is "white"?

Proving him wrong would be a stronger refutation than tone policing. Why not prove him wrong?

The hooker, being self-sufficient, has a stronger argument for holding the franchise than the welfare queen.

LoL

That would be the greatest outcome in judicial history. Six months of riots over a death that all the jurors clearly know about but Chauvin walks because the prosecution couldn't prove Floyd was killed at all.

As long as my clerkage gets clerked quickly and accurately I don't care how many sandbags she can't lift.

If George Floyd had complied with officers he still would have died of the overdose. Ehn.... maybe the police had enough naloxone on hand to save him. Maybe.

elodrian 6 points ago +6 / -0

If the officers were aware of Floyd's criminal history at the time of the incident, then it is relevant because that knowledge would have informed the officers' actions during the arrest.

Edit: His past history of swallowing a stash of drugs to escape an arrest is also relevant, I think.
