It seems to me that we should be able to legislated standards for voting software. The FAA has standards for air worthiness when rebuilding parts and they inspect repair stations, as well as parts, manufacturers on a regular basis to that standard. Why couldn't a standard of voting machines / software be established and all source becomes inspectable, ideally by the general public. Features such as this should not exist in any device used to count any election. There is no reason for this function unless it is to be used for evil. So it should not even be coded and render the device not worthy of an election.
