I do a mix of a bunch of stuff. Not exactly MMA, more akin to Jeet Kune Do and just kinda do it my own way. Knife defense stuff for the most part is all shyte, better to keep something you can use as a makeshift weapon on you at all times (I keep some heavy keychain pieces on a long lanyard myself, though the lanyard needs replacing. That's in addition to a folding karambit I take pretty much everywhere). It's funny, I feel like gun defense techniques are usually more effective than knife techniques if they teach the right thing, although above all the two best rules are: "If you can avoid being in the situation, then don't be in it", and "If you don't have a choice, comply so long as its the safest option(aka they intend to harm/kill you or you're not sure if they intend to)".
