Not how this works. He endorsed Signal for use when BLM was carrying out their "operations". Of COURSE he endorsed it. He was recommending a secure platform so they wouldn't risk getting exposed. He was endorsing it as a platform that protects privacy.
Signal is 100% open source and audited. If there were problems with it, people would be speaking out against it.
