The resulting fireball/cloud was nowhere near that big. Maybe 80-90 feet high. And, it doesn't make a thump...it makes a "whoosh", because it doesn't explode by itself...the tank has to be punctured, then the gas rushes out quickly to make a fireball.
Most RV's carry 20-40lbs of propane, max, way too little to make a fireball of that size.
That was not a propane explosion. Unless the RV was carrying multiple tanks, because, from the size of it (fireball above the tops of the buildings) I would say that's at least 500 lbs of propane.
The conservative version of that twitter post would read:

Meaning, you probably need 6-8 square inches of ventilation for any type of gas, propane, or alcohol fueled heater
If you have the option, a catalytic propane is a far better choice, but they're much harder to find these days. No open flame, runs longer on a tank of propane, and they don't produce carbon monoxide. You still have to vent though, because they WILL use up the oxygen in a small space.

Install F-Droid (open source Android apps...all certified safe).
