So I'm Australian, and people seem cool with me being here. But I recognise and in fact glad that I am part of a very small minority of nonmericans here. But that's 7 comments out of 44 there. That's 16% of that sub.
I don't want to indulge in conspiracy theories that say that China deliberately released the virus to attack the US (I think based on the info at hand it seems a sure bet that it came out of the Wuhan labs though). But I really can't help but ponder it.
I initially thought it was nonsense as if they were going to attack America, they would release it directly in America. But then I realised that would make the fact that it was an attack basically certain, as the right species of bat doesn't reside in North America.
So if you were China, what would you do? First, I would put my own plant in the WHO to make sure they back off investigations when I say so and only release the info that I permit. I would then release the virus in my own country. Suffer a splinter to strike with a sword. Allow the virus to spread beyond control, but tell authorities it doesn't. Kill all whistleblowers. While this is happening, I would hoard medical supplies from Chinese companies operating overseas so that we could stop it quickly when we finally want to. When the focus is off us and everyone is suffering equally, my WHO plant would tell the world that we handled it the very best of all.
But that's just me.
Yeah 'Easter' is actually the name of a Germanic fertility goddess that was appropriated by Christianity so that the festival could continue. So an 'Easter worshipper' would be a pagan, not a Christian. It's not just stupid its incorrect.
It's not going to be Trump-Biden. There's no way they'll put him up. They'll keep him around until he wins the primary to stop Sanders, then Biden will announce he's mentally inept and nominate someone else in his place.
Agreed. This should be a good opportunity to support small local businesses, but instead US govt seems determined to screw them.
If I may give a piece of advice to you guys, I think a big part of the reason that Korea has done so well comes down to individual discipline and everyone working together.
Eg, everyone wears masks. Again I don't know what it's like exactly there but my friend back in Australia said only the Asians are wearing masks because others think its weird or silly or kind of Asian-y. Just swallow your pride and wear one. Better to have stores open and people being slightly uncomfortable than comfortable people and a dead economy.
Also, hand sanitizer. Pretty much every store has it there complimentary. Wash your hands everywhere you go if you're touching stuff. Too much won't hurt. If you're a small business owner, put it out there for people to use.
Just a couple of tips for what we can all do to make a difference and help small business.
I live in South Korea, so I don't really know what the situation is like for you guys. But Korea is being heralded for their exemplary handling of the situation. They deserve it, they've done an amazing job! But let me say that I have seen NOT A SINGLE STORE shut down due to the virus. School's out, yes, and many large gathering venues like churches and nightclubs (and a nightclub called 'Church') are closed -- but not a single store has had to shut its doors (that I have seen, anyway). There are other ways to handle this that are more effective.
I believe Tucker actually said there were no horseshoe bat colonies within 900 miles of Wuhan.
But of course, they could be brought in from afar to eat, right?
Only there is apparently NO evidence that horseshoe bats were ever sold in the Wuhan wet markets.
That last thing was the last straw for me. How is the media not reporting that? It's obviously pretty important. It completely rules out the possibility that it came from bats at the wet market. That theory ought to be utterly discarded. So, what other possible explanations could there be? All that's left really is the virology lab where we know it had been studied for years and we know had almost had instances of the virus breaking out before (in 2017 a researcher self-isolated because a bat pissed on him).
Yeah, this isn't a 'conspiracy theory' anymore. It's really the only acceptable one.
I think Trump winning and gave voice to a lot of ideas that were previously buried and helped a lot of people change their opinions. Mine certainly changed at that time (wasn't a SJW by then, but a libertarian). I think I recall Candace saying that victory did cause her to reexamine some of her positions also. Hell, who here hasn't learned a hell of a lot since 2016?
Imagine.
