I want Trump or KMAC to say word-for-word to the next idiot who brings this up:
Tell me exactly what you want me to say for you to be satisfied that I've condemned the correct group or person
Make THEM say the phrasing so they can't keep shilling this garbage.
Definitely true, there are people out there who can be swung one way or the other. But that percentage is drastically lower than it has ever been before, and therefore not the main target of the Trump campaign in my opinion. Edited to say - Trump is counting on US to swing those people :)
Don't know if you're a Bongino listener/follower, but he had a really strong point about the Trump campaign's strategy for this election. Traditionally, you are trying to swing ~20% of voters that are "moderate" to vote for you. But this year, in the age of mass information and social media, EVERYONE has already decided who they are voting for. The election is over. Trump's campaign is trying to:
- Inspire as many of his supporters as possible to show up to vote
- Discourage Biden voters by separating him as a candidate from the groups that back him (Green New Deal supporters, Bernie supporters, ANTIFA, BLM, etc.)
So at this point, I don't think Trump is trying to convince anyone else to vote for him. If every one of his supporters shows up to vote, he will win in a landslide. Right now he's trying to divide and conquer the Biden camp because they don't have a strong foundation/unity - the only thing they have in common is hating him.
True. But maybe the campaign is smart enough to let the media run a bunch of wild stories about how great the racial sensitivity training is, and THEN drop the bomb of what they are actually teaching. Let them dig their graves first. If there's one thing the Trump administration has been so far, it's patient (still waiting on Barr to do.....anything).
I may have changed my own mind after re-watching the debate this morning. During the first question, Trump is actually quiet and respectful of Biden's time. Biden is the first one to interrupt Trump's response on the topic of Affordable Care Act. Then, when Trump starts talking about socialized health care, WALLACE interrupts Trump and starts saying "We're going to move on to the next topic."
Probably a better take after a re-watch is that Trump saw within the first ~5 minutes of the debate that Wallace was going to team up with Biden to control the narrative, and he decided on the spot he wasn't going to let them do that.
I think these were subtle baits to get Trump to go into denial mode. That puts Trump in a no-win situation.
If he denies the allegations, the media will write "Trump denies allegations despite overwhelming evidence."
He did the correct thing by not acknowledging them at all. Completely illegitimate claims don't deserve any more air time beyond Wallace and Biden shilling them.
Trump had so many amazing one liners you could watch that video 10 times and pick up a new one every time.
"Guess I'm debating you too, but that's okay"
"It's called sarcasm Joe, try it sometime"
"We've done more in 47 months than you've done in 47 years"
Hot take: Trump's campaign decided ahead of time on the "interrupt Sleepy Joe as much as possible" strategy. They knew no matter what happened in that 90 minutes the media was going to paint Trump in a negative light. The constant interruptions obviously rattled Biden, making him stumble over himself, repeatedly say the wrong number/word (sometimes correcting it, sometimes being corrected by Trump/Wallace), and probably elevated his blood pressure and heart rate to dangerous levels depending on what medication he's on (which I'm 100% sure the Trump campaign either explicitly knows or can reasonably guess).
The outcome was never for the media to say "Trump won the debate." Trump's campaign made the calculated decision that "shitshow" headlines are better than "Biden clearly won" headlines.
Honestly after 5 years I think the Trump campaign has given up on trying to do anything about the media. They are gonna "orange man bad" no matter what he says, so at this point he's just trying to speak directly to swing state voters.
Can someone more familiar with this help my simple mind understand: What happens if these people knock on someone's door and the voter recognizes what they are doing and calls the cops? How has that not happened in 300+ instances of this guy knocking on doors to collect people's ballots?
My wife's family lives just outside Portland, OR and we're scheduled to fly out there for Thanksgiving this year. Wish me luck pedes, I'll be behind enemy lines for 10 days with all the MAGA gear my suitcase will hold.
Shut down = dependence on government (stimulus, unemployment, bailouts) = more Democrat voters = repeat cycle for another generation.
Trump winning in November has a good chance to break the current cycle that dates back to when Reagan left office.
People already REEEEEing about how Trump is going to survive with no issues and then "brainwash" people into thinking the virus isn't bad.
OR MAYBE, YOU INCELS, THE VIRUS ISN'T ACTUALLY THAT BAD AFTER ALL.
