Well, I'm an elderpede who spent time as a jock in the 1980s, so I'm what you called a bit biased. I miss the hell out of radio. I know if you started listening to radio any time in the 90s or later, you may wonder what the hell the point is.
Back in the day it was a great way to introduce local acts to the public. I had a pretty decent program director who let us pick a few tracks each show. Today, programming is done on a national level, and is more about finding music people won't turn off so you can sell more commercial space.
Here's the thing. IP law is so messed up in this country that it's nearly impossible to launch a proper internet radio station. Getting music rights is nearly impossible. Radio gets to play by different rules. That means if you want to throw on a track from an old Blue Note record, you can do so for a reasonable fee.
Thing that is really missing is the impact radio had on a local community. I remember when I used to travel around the country. I was able to buy an old hearse (1967 Cadillac. The thing had crazy horsepower...it was also so heavy that I would blow out tires on a regular basis.) and I would call radio stations, telling them I was having a "hearse-warming" party. People would show up and it would be a hell of a party.
But it's more than that. It was a way to get local news out. Local politicians used to be much more accountable when the voters knew what the hell was going on.
This is why we're winning. We dont preach the gospel of despair. We don't celebrate being a victim as being the ultimate virtue.
We laugh at our foes, we support fellow pedes, we welcome everyone to join a party...in the truest sense. Reagan was described as the happy warrior. Trump has created a happy army.
Meme to victory in 2020 and beyond
Talk about going out like a cuck. "The younger generation are ready to take the reigns" is him saying that hes cowering from the blue haired, gender study degree holding, moral scolds. Good. He helped to raise that monster.
If he had balls he would.have raised his middle finger to his attacker's on his last show.
Here from the start. It was clear what was going to happen.
