BA Political Science major here.

To put this simply, Politics is the distribution of money, power, and force. We all have different opinions on policies. Majority here, hopefully, support Trump. Majority on another website may support Bernie, or Biden, or neither. We think Trump's policies are the correct ones. So we vote that way.

Something I see a lot here, and something that seems very popular, is the vilifying of the Democrats. I'd like to remind everyone here that for the most part, we're all on the same team here in America. We are all Americans. This divide is something that is chased by foreign nations. It was not only predicted Russia would go public and say they helped Trump, but that they would also claim they would help Bernie. Two polar opposites. Foreign interference is dangerous, and we should not subject ourselves to it.

We have the power and right here in this nation to decide who we want to be in charge of the distribution I mentioned earlier. We don't work for politicians, the politicians work for the people.

It is the responsibility of each American to inform THEMSELVES of political ideology and which ones they agree with the most. I see politics being treated too much as a team sport in this country today. It is not like this in other countries, not at all. And that gives them an advantage.

We focus too much on wanting us to win, and them to lose. When it is just simply not supposed to be that way. This is not like cheering for your favorite football team. People's lives are affected, people's jobs as well, and people usually vote for what is in their best interest. It does not make them evil, it does not make them pure. It makes them human.

What I see most of us failing to see is the pathway of compromise. Or acceptance. I saw a post here of us ridiculing a Dem who actually admitted she wronged us, by posting false things about our President. She admitted this publicly, and apologized. I only saw criticism of that here. If we are going to shame them when they do something stupid, fine, but to shame them when they realize they're wrong? What incentive do they have to apologize then? What incentive do they have to be flexible on ideas and policies with a party that is going to vilify them no matter what?

We should welcome that with open arms. We must remember that the left won the popular vote in 2016, and they actually had a disadvantage in that the nation already had massive hatred towards Hillary Clinton. We're not going to see that kind of hate with the two potential Democratic nominees right now. No, Trump is not DEFINITELY going to win in a landslide. He just might, but we have to remember that there's a lot of confused people out there. Nothing is set in stone.

No, Republicans Vs Democrats is not what Cats are to Dogs.

Republicans vs Democrats are humans with certain ideas that do not match up with other humans. There are actual multiple parties, and we forget that a lot. We need to remember there are thousands upon thousands up to millions of people who are swing voters. Their ideas change. They don't always vote for the party they might've voted last time. Some Trump supporters will not be voting Trump this election. Some Hillary supporters will be voting Trump this election.

People will vote for what they believe is right. No, there are not people out there knowingly voting for what is the worst for themselves and the nation. No one is doing that on purpose. If you truly believe half the people in this country are evil demons trying to kill others and destroy their own home, we may as well off ourselves, because 175 million evil people is basically hell on Earth. It is a good thing that is not the case.

Just like we do not want one right-wing extremist criminals to represent all of us, we should not let one left-wing extremist represent all of them. We have dumbasses on both sides. it's easy to take a screenshot of a stupid Democrat and say "Look at how all the Democrats think" but it's just unrealistic and propaganda.

We're not even three months in. I just read this post about suggesting Trump and Pence get quarantined and I'm starting to agree with that. All it takes is one stupid leftie to run up to him and cough in his face. Don't want that to be a possibility.

Anyone hear of this too? As all the borders are starting to completely close I think this makes sense. And everyone is saying they're seeing military vehicles. What's going on?
