That's a good one. This began a long time ago, likely early 2000's if not earlier. Men everywhere in NA were shamed into being lesser versions of themselves, lest they be branded "selfish" or "egotistical" or "aggressive".
Shamed in what way? Doing things for yourself branded you as "selfish". Not good. Being assertive branded you as "aggressive". Not taking shit from pathetic losers branded you "dangerous". Having any form of real, sustainable self-belief labelled you as "narcissistic".
It's as if there's a society-wide pacification process, initiated from the higher echelons, to turn men into walking, talking, vagina-worshipping "Yes-men". It's disgusting.
Men today are so prepared to sacrifice self-respect for sex because all of the messaging is that "This is the prize that you must chase no matter what". We've developed a culture where we worship women, along with their victimization, and in turn, become the victims ourselves in trying to prop them up.
