Adults who berate other adults for having differences of opinion aren't people I want in my life. I'm grieving a friend that basically said if I didn't do things her way, I was a murderer. There's no way to interpret that in any way but fascism. I realized she would be one of those people who thought she was a hero by taking away other people's autonomy.

I don't hate her. I wish her well. But I wish her well, well far away from me and my family.

I'm stubborn. If a company shows its true colors, meaning they are anti-freedom or bigoted, I'm done with them. I don't care if they walk it back when it looks like their finances are going to hurt; they've already shown their true colors.

I find substitutes or do without. I've found excellent products that way that I wouldn't have found otherwise. I'm also saving money!

We recently had a friend get covid, go to the hospital, and quickly go downhill. He was put on a ventilator and died. He had no co-morbidities other than age (early 60s).

My husband and I have discussed how we used to believe doctors and hospitals had our best interests in mind. Sure, there have always been doctors with God complexes, but even those didn't want their patients to die, because it would reflect badly on them. Now, it seems the medical community can't wait to stick a patient on a ventilator and shoot them full of drugs to make their organs fail. I no longer trust the medical community to make decisions about what's best for my quality of life. They are going to do what they're told in order to keep their medical licenses and status in the field.

Proud of you. Changing your outlook and yourself takes work.

Lots of people are tightening the belt, not spending, and working from home. This year, our family agreed not to exchange gifts at Christmas (except for children). People are putting off buying big ticket items. Many working elderly retired.

What happened to live and let live? Our society has gone much further with this Karen madness than I believed possible. Mind your own business and stop seeing nefarious schemes behind simple acts. #ToxicFemininity

If this were true, he wouldn't be pointing that out because he'd be celebrating the outcome.

Anyone who threatens to call CPS on a person in order to have their children taken away from them should be avoided at all costs. I'd cut that person out of my life so quickly, I'd leave razor burns.

The thing you have to be concerned with now is that if they were that vindictive, are they going to be willing to let things lie? Will they try in other ways to undermine you (calling schools, etc.)?

Sorry you're dealing with this.

Fully agree. The current female hate on PW must be a pushback from the current cultural fad of male bashing, but I wish the men on our side could understand they're attacking half of the MAGA group.

I asked my dental office to change the channel, and they did. I hate being a virtual prisoner and force-fed idiotic propaganda.

We celebrated Christmas with the family on New Year's Eve now that everyone has stopped puking their lungs up. It was a nice evening with lots of laughter (tears, too; that comes with the territory when several kids spend time together-someone is going to have a meltdown or experience an owie). Totally made up for Christmas, when we were alone and my husband ate a hot dog from the convenience store as his Christmas meal!

I'm not Jewish but love some who are. It's not just the mindless hatred of the Jews that gets so wearying here. It's also hatred of Boomers, Gen-Xers, Millennials, Black People, gays, women... Some people don't know how to MAGA; they're so busy hating on the very people who are supporting their freedom and working toward the same goals.

There are some good, small local colleges in small cities. The professors live in the community, so they have to be more responsive to the citizens. There will be the occasional rabid leftist professor, but, by college age, I don't mind my kids experiencing different perspectives, as long as it isn't vindictive or harmful. By then, our teens had a strong foundation and were able to think critically and discount looney opinions.

Church youth groups, community sports, and rec commission classes can all supply peer interaction. Our daughter danced at the same studio for years; those girls were like sisters to one another. Our son played all the rec sports: basketball, football, baseball, and soccer. We watched for community events, and our kids participated in those things that interested them (we had two rules: 1) it had to be affordable, and 2) once committed, they had to stick with it for a season-no dropping out). As the kids participated, they made friends, and we worked at including their friends in our lives. I don't think I ever had to throw away a leftover once they were in middle school, as we always had another mouth or two to feed at the dinner table.

The lack of interaction your daughter will receive can be overcome with effort on your part. The good news is that you will be sparing her from public school bullying and peer pressure.

It's called a venue. The people who owned slaves are long dead. The people who purchased the property invested their money, time, and dreams to create a place where people can come together to celebrate. A place that saw oppression and sorrow is now used for celebration and joy.

NYC was a favorite vacation spot with something for everyone in our family: theatre, museums, architecture, restaurants, neighborhoods, and attractions. We've decided that future vacations will be in areas that don't hate Americans and the American way of life. I don't want to financially support those places that despise MAGA frens.
