"Bottom line, many major/large businesses can weather this because many of them can fulfill orders online or have been classified "essential"; and people have to have certain products, and the unemployed have tapped debt to fill their needs. What happens when credit runs out?"

END. THE SHUTDOWN. NOW. LET PEOPLE IN THE STATES TAKE IT UP WITH THEIR GOVERNORS AND LET THE GOVERNORS BE LEFT HOLDING THE BAG. Look at this crap from Michigan. If Trump doesn't end the shutdown at the federal level, HE WILL be the scapegoat for the mass, large-scale abandonment of unemployed people

Investor Michael Burry; "Fauci takes credit, says distancing caused lower projected deaths, despite projections having always accounted for that. Media goes along. Case study in mass avoidance of cognitive dissonance. Who wants credit for worst economy ever? #EndTheShutdown"

"I’m watching the reserves at my law firm dwindle. I will fire my marketing firm first. I have already cut hours on my hourly employees. I will go back to a true solo practitioner if things don’t change soon. Nobody will cry for a lawyer but they should for my staff. This is real."

Staunch right-wing conservative guy is the canary in the coalmine: "For the first time in a long time, this has not been Left vs Right or Republican vs Democrat. It’s been everyone still getting paid vs everyone who’s lost it all. How is it humanly possible to be that out of touch?"

More & more in government believe it is their right to deem u “nonessential,” and simply shut down your business, granting you absolutely no recourse. Now they are under the impression that u need to acquire a permission slip to make a living. This is not how any of this works.

"In February I was worried about the virus. By mid-March I was more scared about the economy. But now I’m starting to get genuinely nervous. This isn’t complicated. The models don’t work. The hospitals are empty. WHY ARE WE STILL TALKING ABOUT INDEFINITE LOCKDOWNS?"

"The president needs to get out of DC. He needs to reconnect with real people, hear their stories, and see the economic travesty. That’s always been his strong suit—he’s rightly proud of the economy he helped create. But now that’s gone and he needs to hear from real people now."

"Have savings to pay rent or mortgage for 6 months? Great. Most don’t. Have a steady job that guarantees you a paycheck every month? Great. Many don’t. Don’t forget that you have the luxury to be hysterical about the virus, and to push for draconian, maximalist polices."
