I went to several NHL and semi-pro games where American teams were there and everybody stands up for your anthem even though it’s in Canada. Hell, everybody stands up for the Canadian anthem even if they are separatists (I live in Quebec and even the vast majority of people that wants Québec to be an independent country respect the Canadian anthem because they know what it represents for other people.) so for me it’s kinda alien when spoiled Americans consider their anthem a white supremacy and won’t stand up to it.
TLDR: I am a French-Canadian pede that don’t want the American pc culture to poison hockey and that even Québec separatists stand up for the anthem of the country they want to split from because they have basic decency, so that’s the least American liberals should do.
