Hello again, Pedes! I've seen a lot of people asking about gun laws, and in particular how to legally obtain a firearm. Additionally, folks want to know how to get a concealed carry permit.
Not to worry, Pedes! There's a website for that! Handgunlaw.us has information for all 50 states, and there's a ton of helpful information there for current gun owners, too! Can I carry in a bar? Do I have a duty to inform a law enforcement officer that I'm armed? Where can I or can't I carry? Answers at https://handgunlaw.us/
I have no affiliation with them, but they seem to keep their information up to date, and the site is useful if you're traveling out of state. They also have a reciprocity map, so you can see other states where your permit is valid.
Hope this helps!
First, I want to be clear that I'm not selling stuff here, just trying to inform.
For those of you who don't know, there are companies that sell legal defense services in the case you have to defend yourself using deadly force. I use two of them (CCWSafe and USCCA) because I live in Massachusetts and I'll be demonized from the get-go, and definitely put through the ringer if I find myself in that situation.
Between the two, I'm covered from the initial incident (they both have hotline numbers for incidents) all the way through the end of the trial and through appeals. I'll have a lawyer on-site within 24 hours, and 100% free legal representation every step of the way. It even covers forensic experts and other witnesses for the trial.
The packages range from reasonable to "holy crap, that's a lot", but if you have to defend yourself, there a good chance it will financially ruin you without help (and maybe even with help). I chose to try and insulate myself against as much damage as possible.
That's all Pedes. The more you know! Feel free to hit me up with questions. (I don't know too much, but will help where I can.)
