I have no idea. The school board also killed honors and advanced classes. They were trying to make the one size fits all classes in my school. I really don't know; my school board was pretty stupid.

The issue is that the Mormons who vote for him aren't on this site or reddit. I'm mormon and I don't like him. I wouldn't vote for him, but I'm an Oregon voter in Utah so it doesn't matter.

Luckily, I was homeschooled before I got into highschool, so I got freshman year started off with algebra two. Although the year I graduated the school district stopped allowing 7th graders to take algebra.
