Will be many things, the legality of sending out ballots, the access to the ballots for examination. Mainly will come down to examining the ballots. 1. They are legit and Biden wins, 2. They are fraudulent and they get tossed, then SCOTUS will have to uphold any challenges to toss the fraudulent ballots.

Yes. This is how it works out. States first have to call. As soon as they do, the legal team gets working on ballot access, if granted (and probably will be) they start tying the votes to voters and interviewing them, any improper ballots could be thrown out, they can do signature matches in some state (which would see thousands of Dem ballots getting tossed), they can check for faulty registrations of which there are many, they can look at improper count, which I assume is many. Bottom line, you win an election with fraudulent ballots, you are on shaky ground.
Very easy. You send out ballots (or ballot requests). You have all the names addresses and party affiliation ahead of time. Most people dont return those, so they print up the ballots for those people and drop them in ballot drop boxes at certain locations. If it is close, you send your minions out to those boxes to collect and bring back. So you are casting ballots for people who actually did not return a ballot. This is nothing new.
