You know what it is? The people coming up with this are used to working in glass buildings for fortune 100 companies and letting Exphirion or whatever do all their hiring. They have blood samples, DNA, facebook profiles, credit scores. None of the people working including Mnuchin have ever been around a company with 10 employees that does say, roofing or sprinklers. They have no clue.

I agree with you about the panic, this is WAY overblown. That said, the comorbidity issue is also not understood. Comorbitity can be, and many times is, hypertension, or being a few pounds overweight. You could be 5lbs overweight, with an average BP of 130/90 (still completely healthy) and be considered to have two comorbitities. 90% of people over 30 probably have at least 1 comorbidity.
Its one thing to criticize people, its another to criticize people when you are the one that is misinformed. This is not nuclear fallout. I go jogging every other day and have received some nasty stares. It doesn't bother me, because I know they are the ignorant ones. I am further away from people while jogging on sidewalk or nature trail, then they are sitting on their patio. People are OK at a distance, I don't trust them in large groups with fear mixed into the equation further than I can throw them.

Lets say something more serious happens, China decides they need all the drugs because of a second wave, shuts down other exports, states like Vermont go crazy and limit sales of anything to essential items only and retailers forgo sending half empty trucks to Vermont, because they can send full trucks to Georgia (filled with TP and Video Games). The biggest threat is something totally off the radar that blows up so rapidly it spirals out of control.

They have been this way, its nothing new. The vast majority of people react to fear, and they are afraid. As undemocratic as this sounds, its true, most people are too scared and weak to be leaders, they need to be lead by the brave and strong. People on my neighborhood FB are reeeeeeeing about people jogging for fucks sake. Like this is some sort of gas that floats around in the air unseen like nuclear fallout.

If they did jack shit, I would be happy, but they dont. They sell off stocks before they shut down industries while they tell us everything is fine, they steal billions of dollars from tax payers to pay for PBS, Opera Houses, Green bridges to nowhere, and hold any help for people who need it (i.e. unemployment through no fault of their own) hostage at gun point. They start investigations to determine why response was so slow, when response was so slow because they were investigating something else. They reward companies that destroy critical infrastructure in this country, cost jobs, while they pocket lobbying dollars. They increase h1 and h2 B visas when unemployment is inching toward 20%. I WISH THEY WOULD DO NOTHING. Instead, they do everything counter to our interests.

At the root, it is about the unknowing. I think there was a legitimate case to be made for hospitals being overrun, perhaps still is. But at the heart, we live in an environment where the media is ready to pounce, especially during an election year. It looks like the left took the hysteria route, and were ready to go scorched earth if there was not a shutdown. If there was no shutdown, even the deaths we are seeing now would be blamed on Trump day in and day out, and sadly, half the nation would agree. Joe Biden would come out every day, and squeal about how Trump needs to shut the country down, and there would be a massive rallying cry to do so.
