They refuse to grow up and give up hipsterdom, even though they are no longer hip, and haven't been in over 25 years, they still like to think they are "in with the youth" You see many of these 50+ people in Antifa, or at least supporting them. Its like a post punk, grunge crowd that doesn't realize that their ship has sailed 25 years ago.

You are right that its a powder keg. If I were you, I would do the legwork on seeing how to get groceries delivered to their house. Some people just dont have the mindset to quarantine, my inlaws stayed in for a week until the orchids (all 3 of them) needed fertilizer, then off to lowes. But if they can sit tight, the solution is really easy, stay at home, eat pizza, watch TV.
