Terrible idea. Non discretionary spending is a ticking time bomb. Most of our yearly budget is taken up by non-discretionary spending, which a big part is medicare. Not only is it a bad option, its not really an option at all. Here is the thing, most people are already insured through private plans that work (at least better than medicare for all would). We have approximately 30 million uninsured Americans, at the very least, we know half dropped coverage when the mandatory penalty was decided as not enforced. This leaves approximately 15 million people who want healthcare coverage, but for some reason cannot get it, or chose not to. The solution we used to have was block grants to the states, in which they could establish a health insurance pool. Its not a major task to bring that back, maybe a bit more funding, then we would likely see half the uninsured rate, maybe 7 million. 7 million uninsured is quite acceptable in order to preserve our healthcare system and avoid rationing. So they make it out to be a big problem, but its really not. Medicare for all is about control, not helping people.

Spaghetti is fine. Freeze dried spaghetti MRE style meals are a waste at 6-10 bucks per serving. In reality, I can see planning for a year maybe. Just a possibility, I don't necessarily believe it, but worth thinking about. Could be an all hands on deck last hail Mary from the Dems, to blame Trump for the coronavirus, the handling of it. Non-stop media, no counter social media, Trump is handling the response horrible, unfit to be President. Given a potential state of panic, getting that narrative out there might be the last ditch effort, could be effective. Schumer already took the first swipe, saying 2.5 billion in funding needed to be 8.5 billion (see I told you so setup). Additionally, Trump designated Pence to handle the coronavirus response. Although this is a typical VP type role, it may be strategic for Trump to announce formally as he did, Pence is handling it. Pence could take a hit, wouldnt matter much. Either way, I think they are planning something big when this outbreak hits. It doesnt even have to be that much, a couple thousand people, a handful of deaths, economy recoils, panic ensues, media disseminates unchallenged narrative that Trump dropped the ball.
