One thing I saw though... A lot of people running for state house and senate seats. There were a shit ton of uncontested seats the Dems just grabbed last year. People saw an opportunity... What if I ran as a NOT Democrat. Every open seat will be contested in 2020 now. I dont think Dems will hold on to power. In 2021 I think you will see a GOP Governor. Too many sat on their ass this time around. Voter turnout was like 40%. The Rally drummed up more support next time around. More people will definitely vote, more people representing the 91 some counties where voters only became engaged after they saw what lack of motivation amounted to. I could easily condemn those that sat at home, but I wont. They will be there next time around, and the Rally helped in this regard.
At this point its just a ticket on a party boat. I dont think they will be working very much. Apparently McConnell gave the Dems 2 days for a trial. This is just walking across the finish line with a flag. These people deserve it though.

Personally, I have this belief that movements happen by tapping into an energy. If we look at humans going back over history there were tribal rituals, drum beating, bagpipe playing, that somehow energized people into a charge that in many circumstances was toward total destruction, others total victory. I don't think our psyche has changed as much as people believe. Therefore, I think this rally accomplished that in some way. The net result I think, a bad night for VA Dems in November. So many people did not vote in VA, either because they had no one to vote for, or pure complacency. This actually happened in FL in the 2016 election. In the Panhandle of the state, a reliably red area, turnout was not very good. A sense of defeat had already set in among people in the area.
20+ years ago, when I was the future, and my age group was the future, they were creaming themselves about how 20 more years and all the white people would be dead and everyone would be a liberal. FFWD 20 years, and my age group just keeps getting more conservative. People age and become more conservative, its the way it all works. Their salvation, the millennial climate aware socialist egalitarians will be hitting their 40s this decade, and guess what will happen?

Wont be in the Subburbs, they fight tooth and nail every time, and they get their way. The ones who push this on us so much (bluest counties) are the ones that draw a line in the sand when it comes to them living by the rules they push on us. Maybe conservatives should push a new strategy... Send volunteers into the upscale neighborhoods petitioning rezoning in those areas for refugee housing.
