My grandpa is a retired police officer and saw some shit during the late 60s. The events of Jan 6th haunted him because what he saw back in the day was playing out again right before his eyes.
Based on the conversations I’ve had with him, it’s very hard to convince someone to become a police officer these days. Not only are they risking their lives dealing with the gangbangers, but one wrong move or judgement call and you run the risk of going to prison and/or ending up penniless.
