Ok, I believe you. Unless you were given special access to investigate YouTube's algorithm, I don't know how you would know 'exactly' how it works, though. Because I'm in IT too and that title doesn't automatically tell me that a video will rank higher if it's downvoted as opposed to not downvoted. I spend many hours on YouTube and it's actually rare I come across a video with more downvotes than upvotes. Most all matching videos in my searches appear to be ranked from the highest % of upvotes to downvotes and appear to be considered relevant in terms of how recent it was posted. I'm sorting by 'rating' right now and it is not showing any videos with more downvotes than upvotes. It shows the opposite. Since you know exactly how it works, what is the exact criteria for how the highly downvoted videos appear within each of the sorted categories?
