That just doesn't happen normally, even with C19 numbers, and especially for Thursday travel.
The 959 hits is a little misleading because of how carriers load the physical number of seats available into fare buckets, it's not a 1:1 ratio because it corresponds more to fare price points than physical seats
BUT at least on a few of these flights I would've expected to see the highest economy fare (Y, fully refundable, stupid expensive) to have 9 or fewer seats available
There's just no seats open on these.

I'm definitely undercounting nonstops a bit since I can't see Southwest availability, they operate at least one nonstop if not more on at least 80% of the routes I pulled.
I just pulled Phoenix to DC with one-stops, and still coming back goose eggs on space for 05JAN.

Airlines are fucky with space ("capacity control"), so even if LAX-IAD is listed as sold out, they might list a seat or two open if you did SFO-LAX-IAD, but not even seeing that here.
Can't put a firm number to it, but a metric fuck-ton of pedes are going to be flying on Jan 5.
A standard 737 can carry about 162 people, equipment will vary across carriers so just peg it at 150 x the number of flights I listed.
I didn't include Southwest because theyy only list schedule and not availability for me, would assume they're all sold out too.
It is extraordinarily rare for all flights to be sold out 3 days prior, and wide open 5 days prior.
