If this was an urban area, I'd agree. But here? It's pick-ups and side-by-sides, beer, whiskey and weed. Most stop signs are decorated with bullet holes and every year or so someone comes through and bashes the mailboxes. The culture is if you want us to do something, tell us we can't. And yet face masks are OK - ?? I have been completely mystified by this for a year.

the lone conservative...against six older siblings

In all seriousness, you have my prayers. That's one battle I don't think I could handle.

I feel alone

Same. And here I am, in a rural area that is known for not wearing seat belts, rolling through stop signs, throwing beer cans out the window, driving with suspended driver's licenses, etc., etc., etc. And yet when I go to the local kroger or walmart, as far as I can tell I am the only person walking around without a china muzzle. For the life of me I can't figure out why.

Everything you said makes total sense. Maybe it's time to get a horse.

To be fair, when I was a kid I asked my parents for one but of course never got it, so two birds with one stone - avoiding taxes and checking an item off my bucket list.

Especially for those of us who live in rural areas, why don't we identify as Amish? There is a small Amish population in my area, and when I have seen them in stores they haven't been wearing masks. I don't know this for a fact, but I betcha they're not getting the china vaccine and I betcha they will get the religious exemption for anything that requires the china vaccine. Besides, I look slimmer when I wear black.

I work with a woman who, in meetings, prefaces every statement with, "As a bisexual woman..."

I know it's easy for me to say this, sitting at my kitchen table, but I'd like to think I have enough intestinal fortitude to do the same. "As a heterosexual woman...."

My daughter is now 21 and she actually listens to me sometimes.

Hang in there! Altho I didn't have to convince my daughter about the perversion and weirdness of the alphabet people, there was an in-general knee-jerk scepticism to so much of what I said and stood for through her teenage years. That started to change about the time she hit 20, just like you said. It was enough of a shift that I had to remind myself to stay calm and not to be visibly shocked or draw attention to it. :-) She's now 30 and I'm happy (thrilled, ecstatic, elated) to report that we run things by each other all of the time for one another's opinion. I hope this encourages you, because to tell you the truth, I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out. Keep those lines of communication open!

Dad it says right here that Noah slept with his daughters.

Just for the sake of accuracy, it wasn't Noah. It was Lot who had been living in the city of Sodom. Two of his daughters, who had grown up there (and therefore had been influenced by the immorality they had been surrounded by), got Lot drunk, seduced him, and both became pregnant. (Genesis 19:30-38)

Is it just me, or does anyone else want to see a picture of Alissa Alissa?

C'mon man. There is no God. Even the Bible says so. Psalm 14:1. Look it up. - Joe Biden probably.

Yep, Boomers

You watch your mouth young man. Where would any of us be without Ronald Reagan, Thomas Sowell, Rush Limbaugh, and of course, The Boomer Who Out-Booms All Boomers - Donald J. Trump?

Now, for your punishment - read the Sunday newspaper, listen to an oldies station on an actual radio, smoke a Marlboro without a filter, and drink a Pabst Blue Ribbon all at the same time.

Anyone want to make a prediction on how long Tucker Carlson and Hannity will be on Fox?

They amended the Honduran Constitution to read: “The unborn shall be considered as born for all rights accorded within the limits established by law. It is prohibited and illegal for the mother or a third party to practice any form of interruption of life on the unborn, whose life must be respected from conception.”

Beautifully worded.

ask the Big Guy upstairs to toss me a note, or whatever he does to get people to notice him.

Your comment made me smile. He already has sent us a note.

If you are sincere (and it sounds to me like you are), take some time to read a few books of the Bible. My suggestion is to read Genesis in the Old Testament, then go to the New Testament and read Matthew, John, and Romans. As far as time goes, it takes about the same time as it takes to read a 200 page book. Maybe less. God bless you, friend.

refuse to look me in the eye at the store when I'm walking around without a mask

Yes! Same here. It's like the Star Trek cloaking device. I suddenly turn invisible.
