Nah they don't care about Iran. Israel is by far the most advanced military in the Middle East (and it's not even close). Iran's military is still using Soviet technology.
The only thing Israel cares about is minimizing Iranian influence and stopping their nuke program (which Mossad handles both).
If you notice every few years Israel assassinates some asshole in the Iranian nuke program or blows up a base (which the UN gets mad about but cant do shit).
They call it 'mowing the grass'. It's a strategy they have been employing against Iran and Palestine since the 90s. Whether I agree with it or not is irrelevant but that's their strategy and it's been working for decades.
