Powell has to file a response to the Appeals court tomorrow regarding the en banc request. More exonerating evidence came out last week and she hinted there is even more, but we will surely see her response. Then the Court has to decide on its response to Sullivan's request. As slow as courts are it is hard to see it getting done this week, although possible if the Court refuses to hear it en banc.

Some sort of lift above the eyes, and the forehead skin. Seems like her nose is wider and her teeth are exposed more.

Oops. There goes the voter bloc, preferring capitalism to socialism.

This is one of the journals that had to retract the bogus study about HCQ and has had a number of editors quit in disgust, so their opinion is as good as The National Enquirer to me.

Thomas Sowell goes deeply into the psychology of the sjw in his book The Vision of the Anointed. His view of them is ours stated clearly and with references. If not quite a religion, there is definitely a typical belief system and relationship with others (They being the Anointed and the others being the Benighted or the mascots). Sadly he sees this as a self-reinforcing and self-rewarding coping system which hardens into unchangeable because they will not accept empirical evidence that contradicts the axioms of their beliefs. In this way they truly are mentally ill, in the basic definition I grew up with: they are not operating in the "real" world of most people who can adjust to reality as they see their assumptions are incorrect. So it seems to me a real test of the whole conception would be to find the right therapeutic approach. Lately there are many anecdotes of cures due to the shock of seeing beliefs put into action.

It may have been stupid but it wasn't organized vicious mass destruction like this, more like Easy Rider. The Weathermen came in at the end of the 60s. This is Weathermen on steroids.

In Portland we called that stuff Malarkey after the company that made it, no joke, and once the lid is off the can it's everywhere. This hot weather is ideal for spreading it. Maybe in the city it's hard to find.

Hungary should leave already. But they are poor, they need support. If not the EU, then Russia. Wish we could help make Magyarorszag great again.

Apparently it is very hard because I see this all the time. On the one hand, it is a courtesy to provide a link at the outset. On the other hand, a given link might be misleading, go to a suspicious site, or miss part of the story: doing your own research means you own the results, you get a ton more info usually, and you gain secondary info about how widespread the story is. So even if a link is given, it is just a start.

I can feel a general sadness for a life gone with no more chance to ever make things better because it means wasted opportunity--and also relief that one particular person won't be causing others any more pain. Hating the dead seems as pointless as hating the past.

Uh oh. "A charitable organization" are words that now mean "money laundering and cronyism" too often.

TY, I think there's some subversion value to the splash shields. I notice people give them a double take--they aren't filtering anything, they aren't hiding much, yet for those who realize the original rationale for masks is to stop spit they can't argue with the waterproofness. And later when we are over this nonsense it will still be useful.

With what we now know about China, and more every day, I think stopping China is a bigger and more pressing problem than anything else. I also think that stopping China is going to stop a lot of spin-off shit they support. And we have been seeing a steady drip of indictments against Chinese spies.

Actually I think the rare plastic shields are best, because the face is visible, you can breathe easily, no one can argue that spatters are stopped. Opaque masks cut out a lot of information and have an estranging effect among people.

These people had to kill someone to join the gang. They did so willingly. Not random accidental killings, not just out stealing sneakers. I feel less sympathy for them than for rabid animals.
