The results of the 'long march through the institutions' strategy are the biggest problem right now, I think. 'Indoctrinate, infiltrate, gain control'. People recognize marxist agenda, but don't realize what's been going on to get the country to that point.
I'm not sure how long they keep images that are uploaded with an account, but it's not forever, noticed a while ago that all my older imgur links were 404. Probably worth having the account just so that doesn't happen? Lets you downvote, also. And upvote the very rare pics that aren't blatant communist pandering or reposted low-quality garbage.

How do you get the idea completely backwards, without doing it on purpose?
Did you use the pull-down menu under "Tools" at the top? Hit "Archive" on the menu, it's the last item. Paste the url, etc ?
Have you tried maga.host? I've used it for basically everything here, no problems yet.
Hit "link" to grab something from another site or "browse files" if it's on your disk. Then hit "upload 1 file". After it's done, hit the icon of the uploaded pic, and it'll reload to the actual maga.host url. e.g.,
