Archive, my pede. Don't give the post fucking clicks.
I was in San Jose for business like 3 years ago and I called for a cab, and the driver ended up being an Iranian woman and the whole cab ride this is the exact thing she ranted about to me. She's been a lifelong San Jose resident and how San Jose is now unlivable because of Google working with the Indian government to bring in 30,000 or 40,000 indians at a clip and put them up in new constructions and employ them at google. Or what they do is just buy entire apartment complexes which led to another problem which is that most apartment building owners stopped making rent affordable because they don't want to rent to people - they want to sell the building for millions to Google to house Indians with H1-B. She was talking about not only the insane cost of living in San Jose which has gone off the scale but also the massive increase in traffic and other related problems.
I don't know - I've actually called into the John Fredericks Radio show and spoken with him. At first I was all into the whole "Let's toss the bad apples" thing because I get what he's saying that it's too time consuming to build a new political party but honestly after this Liz Cheney debacle it's hard for me to stay on board with it.
Fish stink from the head and if the people in the GOP are gonna make it impossible for us to toss the bad apples at the top, there's no hope in fixing the party.
I actually bumped into Dan Rather in Kennedy Airport back in the early 90s, when you still had to go up to the chick to check in for a flight. He had some camera team with him with all their gear in road cases stenciled with CBS logos. I guess they were on their way somewhere to report on something. I was on the line checking in next to him and I just said, "Hey Dan!" He turned and I told him, "You know why they call your channel CBS? Because when I watch, all I do is see B.S."
He looked incensed. He just turned forward again and his face was turning red. It's clear he wanted to say something but just didn't or couldn't come up with something.
Decades later, no matter how often I see him making his asinine statements or flat out lying on social media, I think of that day and still get a warm feeling from that one moment.
I know the speech means nothing and the dems and rinos just yawn and ignore, but for a single moment, it's great to hear ONE person acting like the way the republicans should have been. Really if only just to hear at least one person at least voicing what we're feeling, it's worth it.
Same here brother. For 8 years I stopped watching TV because I couldn't stomach Obama. By the time Obama was out of office, I was completely broken of my TV habit and have never watched anything again. If anything I just watch old movies I have but I never watch any TV anymore.
I try not to get too high huffing hopium. I'm split on this. Either he signed the insurrection act and I post a "it's happening" gif, or bright Monday morning Nancy's gonna figuratively do a zerg rush with anything she can to get Trump out - 25th amendment, Impeachment charges, courts, screaming at Pence, etc. Anything. And they're just trying to lock down the big cities in case of another capitol hill situation.
I don't really use my phone for much except calls, texts, and waze. I'm sure waze is a privacy nightmare though. I have a great Garmin GPS but I got lazy and use waze more because it's better with traffic notifications. But I probably should go back to the garmin.
I'd be into a gab phone though. I don't need much from my phone.
" It will be the first time in the nuclear age that a sitting president has not attended his successor's inauguration."
They had to find something to say it was "the first time" because they can't resist trying to make it look like Trump is just the worst person ever and breaking all protocols that have been maintained in this country's 200+ year history. It's actually laughable at his point.
Also:
"Clinton lost his nuclear code card for a few months in 2000"
For fuck's sake. It's like a comedy movie.
