As a small business owner, the big thing I'm noticing is not only are local governments doing everything they can to force us entrepreneurs out of business, but the investment opportunities are also drying up faster than I'd ever imagined. Angels and VC's aren't risking it, and the FFF route is absolutely out when 18 million Americans are unemployed. Because of this, we're going to be relying solely on customer & B2B income for at least the next six months. The economy would get roaring again if the SBA could actually be a lender and get small businesses going, rather than coming up with complex loan programs that the banks find profit from via loopholes. Goods could get produced/sold, and employees paid, while businesses can prove they have the chops to make it in such a tumultuous economy.
Take that $900,000,000,000, and cut it by 99.9%. That leaves $90,000,000. Open up private sector grants capping out at $20,000 for businesses that have made less than $1,000,000 revenue in the last year. I'm honestly shocked we don't do this for all startups in general. $20k is pennies and yet can really make all the difference for a new or struggling business. And $90mil makes a much smaller dent with regards to inflation than $900bil.
