When the TEA Party rose up against obamacare, bailouts, taxes and whatnot, that was a golden oppurtunity fro Mitch to Make the GOP a permanent majority. for the first time in decades, the people were motivated, angry and politically active.
What did Mitch do? He vowed to crush them. And he did. the few TEA Party candidates to make it thru, were either co-opted by the GOPe or run out of DC.
2016-20 was a repeat of 2010-14.
But unlike the TEA Party, which were comprised of small independant groups organozing locally, MAGA is national, unorganiozed, and fully led anf funded by one man, Donald John Trump.
The Tea Party was easy to destroy, just sic the IRS, FBI, EPA DOH, DEA, EPA and every other 3 Letter at the individual groups sponsors and organizers. That cut off alot of organizing efforts and fundraising abilities. Then the media went after TP the same way they are woth Q and now MAGA, polarizing them, smearing them.
Now if my assertion is true, that MAGA poses the same challenge to Micth as the TP, what would he do to the MAGA and its leader, DJT?
