almost everyone calls this man a hero for his work during the civil rights movement and it is commendable that he was in the civil rights protests, however I havent heard about anything he has done in the last 20 years. What has he done while in congress?

Having seen all of the bipartisan backlash to Trump's withdrawal of troops from afganistan and germany, I was wondering why both sides of the aisle had a problem with this. Our troops overseas have accomplished nothing in the past 50 years that has had an impact on any american living in america. We just get involved in pointless wars to stop "evil dictators" when in reality the guys we supported were even worse. We also defend allies who dont pay us for it for no reason, this military pretense has also had no effect on any americans at home other than wasting tax dollars. Seems like most americans oppose this neeedless military intervention all over the world so the question is why do politicians on both sides support it? I think the answer is money laundering. This foreign military presense gives politicians an excuse to give fat military contracts to companies that either they or their friends control. Then after getting their company paid overseas they send the money through a shell company somewhere else in the world and cleanly launder it into their bank account. The reason they prefer laundering money overseas to military operations is that its harder to show evidence of their corruption when the money goes to another country and also military spending has become extremely bloated and its incredibly hard to prove overpayment and political influence in the awarding of military contracts especially overseas. Therefore, these politicians oppose a reduction of military presence overseas as it would reduce the amount of money that they could funnel into their bank accounts. Both sides oppose this because thye have been getting rich off of this scam for 50 years and its incredibly hard to trace or prove it. This seems like a plausible theory I was wondering what your guys' take is on this.

After Reagans second term the republican party nominated H.W Bush, Dole, Bush Mccain, and romney. All besides Dole, who was just a placeholder for the party as they had no chance against slick willy, were traitorous neocon cucks who supported huge government intervention overseas, combined with open border trade policy and outsourcing of american jobs. Also all wanted to increase the size of the federal government. For 28 years ths republican party was lead by neocon cucks whose polices were complete trash. Before these guys the party had decent candidates like Eisnehower, Nixon, and Reagan, but after 1988 how was the party lead by the neocon wing?

FDR created the ponzi schemes of social security and medicare which we are paying almost half of all tax dollars into today, destroying the future federal budget and also his policies extended the depression. he shouldn't get credit for ww2 as he just sat on the sidelines and came in once the brits/russians did most of the work. somehow got elected 4 times due to the media being the only news source and covering for him and him getting credit for the economic recovery even tho his policies extended the depression. We are still dealing with the ramifications of his useless and bloated welfare programs today and have 2 massive ponzi schemes that anchor the federal government. Also his admin increased the size of the federal gov, something we have never been able to reverse since. his policies of welfare and massive taxes continue to destroy the country today and no one will be able to reverse the damage he has done as no senior will vote to end social security.medicare. only other pres this bad would be obama, but his policies hopefully wont affect the country 50 years from now like fdrs' are.

Was browing /pol/ today and saw that a lot of users are anti-trump, tying trump to the jewish nwo or some shit. there were supporters of course but way more cucked posters than in 2016 when it was like 75% trump. what happened to /pol/?

I made a post earlier about how I was not feeling great because of all of the polls showing trump behind by a lot, but after Trumps tweet about this new cnn poll showing a ridiculous biden lead of 14 percent I decided to take a look for myself and see how biased the polls really can be.

Firstly, looking at this document https://cdn.cnn.com/cnn/2020/images/06/08/rel6a.-.race.and.2020.pdf it says that they over-sampled black voters, having 250 black voters out of a total pool of 1259 voters. This represents 20 percent of the sample, which is 8 percent higher than the black voter percentage in 2016 or in nearly every other election(12%). Therefore, if the poll were properly weighted to 12 percent black, it would replace 8 percent of the black voters with nonblack voters. If we assume Biden gets about 87 percent of the black vote and Trump gets 8, this means that of this 8 percent black population, we have 7 percent of the total respondents vote for biden and .75 percent vote for Trump. If we replaced these extra 8 percent of black voters with non-black voters, who we assume for simplicity are split evenly between biden and Trump 50 50, we get 4 percent for biden and 4 for Trump. Therefore, just by properly adjusting the race weighting of the poll, we get a 3 percent decrease in biden support and a 3.75 percent increase in Trump support, bringing the poll result to biden 52 Trump 44.75.

Secondly, this poll gets even worse as the poll says 32 percent of respondents identify as democrat, 25 republican and the rest independent. From 2016 exit polling we know the electorate was more like 36% democrat 33% republican. So if we assume 90 percent of democrats vote for biden and 10 percent for Trump and 90 percent of Republicans vote for Trump and 10 for Biden, and that independants are 50/50 for simplicity, we have take out 4 percent of the independants and add in democrat respondents to bring the democrat percentage to 36, which adds about 2 percent to biden and takes away 2 percent from Trump. We also have to take out 8 percent more independants and add in republican respondents which adds 4 percent to Trump and takes away 4 from biden, so the net effect is Trump gains 2 percent and biden loses 2, which brings the total to biden 50 Trump 46.

Note the math here is very rough and obviously can be wrong, but looking at the weighting of this poll, it clearly seems off, and there can be many reasons for this like respondent bias, meaning that republicans answer the phone for these polls less often. Adjusting the poll in this way is probably not the best way to correct for this bias, but doing this back of the napkin math shows how skewed it can be.

TLDR: CNN poll oversamples blacks, and under samples republicans, true results could be closer to biden 50 percent Trump 46. Also, this poll uses adults rather than likely voters which could swing the poll even more in Trumps favor as mentioned in Trump's tweet. Also, Trump does not need to win the popular vote to win, just the Electoral Collage which he has a 2-3 point advantage in.

These last few months have been pretty hard for me in terms of the lockdown. Also, I see that the democrats have been pushing the insane restrictions and letting riots happen in all major cities. On top of that, Bush, Obama, and now Mattis seem to be coming out against Trump and it seems that the polls show people supporting a lot of these policies and Trump trailing by a lot. I just feel like shit with all of this happening right now and wanted to see if the great people here could help me feel better about the current situation and Trump's chances. Thanks
