I gave up trying to talk to liberals about 4 years ago, when they got exceptionally violent. I gave up trying to have a conversation with the liberals in my family. It took me a little while to figure out why I felt like I was spinning my wheels when we talked, but I figured it out:
Liberals and Conservatives are dealing with two totally separate sets of "facts"...theirs and ours. They wouldn't know what the hell I was talking about if I brought up Stefan Halper or Alexandra Chalupa. They have no idea what a FISC is, much less a FISA. Meanwhile, every word out of their mouths has been debunked already by the news that I/we all follow.
It feels so damn pointless, but I know it's worth it to try. Like Bongino says, "you don't argue to change the liberal's mind, you argue to change the independent's mind that's listening to your conversation."
As you say, he may be a doctor, but he’s still a bureaucrat. Plain and simple. The toast is buttered on both sides.
